How to enable push notifications in Copit

· Published

Install Copit if you are on iPhone, open Settings, enable notifications from the Notifications section, link this device to your alerts, then turn on Push to this device inside each alert you want on your phone.

How Copit push works

Copit push notifications are per device and per alert. That is intentional.

It prevents every new filter from automatically spamming your phone. You choose which alerts should send push notifications to the current device.

Setup checklist

Use this checklist before testing notifications:

  1. Install Copit as a Home Screen app if you are on iPhone.
  2. Open Copit from the installed app icon.
  3. Go to Settings.
  4. Find the Notifications section.
  5. Tap the button to allow notifications.
  6. Send a test notification.
  7. Link this device to active alerts if you want push on alerts you already created.
  8. Open an alert and enable Push to this device.

iPhone requirements

On iPhone, push notifications require the installed Home Screen app.

If you are using Copit inside a normal Safari tab, you can still use the live feed and alerts, but iPhone push cannot be enabled from that tab.

Install Copit first, then open Settings from the installed app.

Android and desktop requirements

On Android and desktop Chromium browsers, Copit can request permission from the browser when you tap the notification setup action in Settings.

If the browser says notifications are blocked, Copit cannot force another prompt. You need to re-enable notifications from browser or system settings.

Turn push on for an alert

After the device is subscribed:

  1. Go to My Alerts.
  2. Edit the alert.
  3. Look for Push to this device.
  4. Turn it on.
  5. Save the alert.

If the toggle is not visible, the current device is not subscribed yet. Go back to Settings and finish the notification setup.

Testing

The best test is:

  1. Enable notifications in Settings.
  2. Tap Send test notification.
  3. Confirm it appears on the phone.
  4. Link the current device to your active alerts.
  5. Wait for a real new match in the live feed.

If the test notification works but real alerts do not, the most likely issue is that the device is not linked to that specific alert.
